HOW TO FIGURE OUT YOUR BODY SHAPE

If you could go back and time and tell yourself one thing what would it be?

For me, there are a few things I wish I would have learned sooner in life and one of those would be my body shape. This bit of information has radically changed the way I view my body, level of confidence, and how I choose to dress.

For years, I struggled to find outfits that complimented my figure because I did not know what my body shape was! As a result, I ended up with a wardrobe I hated and I often found myself feeling insecure, depressed, and less than. I dreaded shopping, and fitting rooms became “torture” rooms for me.

All this changed when I discovered my body shape and learned how to shop for pieces that would complement my shape. I also learned how to create a wardrobe and style outfits in a way that made me feel confident and beautiful! I want to help you do the same!

To figure out your body shape you will need:

  1. A fabric measuring tape

  2. Download my Free Dressing for your Body Shape Guide here. (This guide does not cover all the body shapes but it does discuss the most common body shapes.)

  3. and possibly a friend to help you.

Once you have what you need, you will want to measure these parts of your body:

  • Shoulders- Take the measuring tape around the width of your shoulders.

  • Bust - Measure around the fullest part of your bust.

  • Waist- This is usually the tiniest part of your waist. (usually around the belly button)

  • Hips- Measure the fullest part of your hips and butt area

Once you have those measurements you will want to compare your findings with the GUIDE I have created. Don't fret if your measurements do not line up perfectly with the descriptions of the most common body shapes. Simply pull helpful tips from the body shape that is most like yours. If you are still feeling lost and would like more guidance, sign up for a Free Personal Styling Strategy Session here.

I hope you found this information helpful as you figure out your body shape. My hope is that you will create a wardrobe full of outfit possibilities that make you feel beautiful and confident.

XO,

Gabby
